Policy Review for Anti-Social Behaviour Policy

Policy Review – Anti-Social Behaviour Policy Overview

At Forth Housing Association, we are committed to fostering safe, respectful communities where everyone can enjoy a peaceful living environment. We take any report of anti-social behaviour (ASB) seriously and act promptly and fairly to address the concerns of our tenants and customers.

Our Commitment to Addressing Anti-Social Behaviour

We have a dedicated Anti-Social Behaviour Policy that outlines:

• What constitutes anti-social behaviour.
• The steps we take when responding to complaints.
• The timescales for handling complaints and how we categorise and record them.
• The actions we take to prevent anti-social behaviour.
• Our commitment to monitoring performance and ensuring we meet the needs of our community.

Key Principles of Our Anti-Social Behaviour Policy

We believe that every individual has the right to live in peace and without disturbance in their home or neighbourhood. Anti-social behaviour can seriously affect the quality of life, and we are committed to responding effectively when it arises.

Timely Action: We aim to take early, effective action when reports are made, ensuring that issues are resolved swiftly.
Fair and Firm Approach: We adopt a balanced approach that is both firm and fair when investigating and resolving complaints.
Partnership Working: We work closely with our tenants and partner organisations to find practical, sustainable solutions to incidents of anti-social behaviour.

Incorporating Legal and Tenant Responsibilities

Our policy also aligns with the Scottish Secure Tenancy Agreement, ensuring clarity on the rights and responsibilities of tenants. This includes:

• Being a good neighbour and respecting others.
• Ensuring a peaceful living environment for all residents.

2. Clarifying Policy Aims – Defining the objectives more explicitly.
3. Strengthening Partnerships – Emphasising the importance of collaboration with tenants, local authorities, and other partners.
4. Improving Case Management – Updating our approach to handling and resolving ASB cases.
5. Adding Information on Equalities & Data Protection – Updating sections on equalities, performance monitoring, training, and data security.
