I Am Self isolating - What Financial Help Can I Get?
If you're an employee and earn at least £118 per week (£120 from April 2020) you should receive £94.25 per week (£95.85 from April 2020) from first day you are off sick if it is related to coronavirus, some employers have more generous contractual sick schemes which can be checked with employer
If you are not eligible for SSP as your earnings are too low you may be eligible to claim universal credit
You may also be eligible for help with rent through universal credit.
If you are already claiming housing benefit/tax credits/income support/employment support allowance and claim universal credit these benefits will be stopped and replaced by universal credit
To claim universal credit this requires to be done online at www.gov.uk/apply-universal-credit. If you are already in receipt of universal credit put a note on your journal to advise you are self isolating.
