Dementia Awareness Week 1-7th June
Alzheimer Scotland want to use the seven days to let you know that they are still here to help, especially at this time. If you need anything from them, just get in touch.
The 24 hour Freephone Dementia Helpline, Tel: 0808 808 3000, provides information, signposting and emotional support to people with the illness, their families, friends and professionals. Callers are given information and support with:
• understanding the illness
• treatments
• how to get help locally
• maintaining independence
• financial and legal matters
• rights and entitlements
• coping with behaviour
• community care
• long-stay care
• anything else to do with dementia.
The Dementia Helpline can provide information right away on many questions or concerns. They can send out information free of charge to carers, family members and people with dementia. They also have
a panel of expert advisers who help. Log on to: https://www.alzscot.org/news/dementia-awareness-week-2020 for more information.
